Today TheGeneralistIT.com performance was crippled by patching and maintenance tasks done at Godaddy’s data center where my hosting account was hosted.
While I was writing new content I noticed that the site performance was severally degraded and immediately made contact with Godaddy support to make sure that this is not a hacking attempt.
Godaddy support tech confirmed that indeed the root cause was patching done at the data center and verified that the account is secure.
While I couldn’t control the downtime I’m sorry for the inconvenience, and would like to assure you that despite you may have seen error messages when accessing the site,
no personal information was exposed or at risk.
Please also note that as I was making some changes to the site content and layout in parallel to the performance issues, (or just before they have started),
you may experience some usability issues (specifically posts and pages not displaying correctly) for the next few hours, until the sites cache is fully rebuilt, and published.
Thank you for understanding.
I really hope to see you back again!
